Craig Hall
Youth Pastor
Craig was born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 1972, and grew up attending the Catholic church. Growing up and as a young man, he felt he was missing a deep spiritual connection with God: a connection he later found while attending Sutherlin Family Church.
Craig graduated from Bend Senior High in 1990 and entered the Marine Corps the following year. While serving in the Marines, he met the love of his life, Jennifer; they got married in 1994. After his discharge from the Marines, Craig completed his bachelors degree at Western Oregon University. During his twelve-year teaching career, he taught both third and sixth grades for the Roseburg School District.
Craig and Jennifer began attending Sutherlin Family Church in 1998, where he became a Christ-follower in 1999; both he and Jennifer were baptized in 2000. Soon after, they became involved in children's ministries, assisting with Operation Kids on Wednesday nights as well as serving during the weekend services and as helpers with summer VBS activities.
Watching his two boys, Elijah (10) and Ethan (8) develop, and desiring to
ground them in the faith as well as teaching in school and at SFC have given Craig a strong desire to move from teaching in the public school to devoting his talents and passions to full-time ministry. He feels that God has used the last several years of training and experience to prepare him to minister to area students.
"The joy I once felt teaching has been replaced with a desire to share the message of Jesus Christ. I feel God is calling me to share His life-changing message with the youth. My heart's desire is for the youth of today to have a genuine desire to seek God, love Him, and share His love with others."
