With a passion for growing followers of Christ, Ed has been a catalytic leader in bringing positive change to churches. Gaining valuable experience through business and ministry, Ed has team-building skills to effectively empower others to excel in their mission.
Ed grew up in Elkton, just a few miles from Sutherlin, where his father was pastor. In 1982, Ed married Robynne who was from Travelers Rest, SC. Since that time, they have committed their life to serve in ministry together.
Ed became Lead Pastor at SFC in 2006 after serving four years as a staff pastor. Working with a dedicated staff and Leadership Board, Ed is the directional leader who believes God has positioned the church to be the hope of the world. With a “God sized” vision Ed is leading Sutherlin Family Church to impact Douglas County and the world.
Through Ministry Advantage Ed also coaches pastors in North America to grow vibrant churches.
Ed and Robynne enjoy camping, biking, traveling and spending time with family. They have two adult children: Tim, his wife Amy and their son, Bennett live in Virginia; Melissa is married to Jordan Knee and they serve in various ministries at SFC.
